Rajiv Venkataramanan is Senior Counsel to United States Senator Patrick J. Leahy. Professor Venkataramanan advises Senator Leahy on a number of legislative and policy issues, including immigration, refugees, human rights, government transparency, nominations, and appropriations matters. He previously worked as an associate at Dechert LLP, where he founded a pro bono group dedicated to representing asylum seekers and refugees. Professor Venkataramanan holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he also obtained a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies.
