Curtis High School students get inside look at law school
January 26, 2020STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Twenty-five students at Curtis High School, St. George, are getting an inside look at what it would be like to go to law school.
Georgetown has identified 40 high schools across the country, including in Washington, DC, New York, New Mexico, Chicago, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, South Florida, New Orleans, Boston, Newark, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Detroit. At each of these 40 high schools, Georgetown Law is working with a group of 25 high school seniors by visiting with these students three times during their senior year, and staying in contact afterwards. The school is launching an initiative to send law students and its dean of admissions into as many as 30 underserved high schools across the country with a specific goal of inspiring students to get a law degree.
