Program Schedule 2019-2020

After close consultation with Georgetown University leadership and Corporate Counsel Institute stakeholders, we've made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person sessions and the pre-institute kick-off event for the 2020 Corporate Counsel Institute.
Having spent the past year preparing with our Advisory Board, speakers, and sponsors, we're genuinely upset and disappointed that we cannot host the Institute at this time. As an alternative option, we intend to record the sessions and make that content available online for our registrants.
We want to thank all our customers, Advisory Board members, and speakers for their support and encouragement. We are working with our moderators, speakers, and IT team to finalize the details to record the content and will share more information to access the recorded content once it is available.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate current events. Please contact us via email at CLE@georgetown.edu with additional questions.

We sincerely regret to inform you that we have come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute. The program will no longer be held at Georgetown Law and the Washington Court Hotel on April 1-3, 2020.
The decision was made on March 10, after much consideration by, and frequent communication with, university leadership and program stakeholders.
The health and safety of our Advisory Board members, speakers, and attendees, as well as Georgetown Law faculty, staff, and students is our paramount concern.
Registrants can indicate their preference to be given a full refund or to remain registered for the 2021 Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute by completing this form by March 20 (link below).

We sincerely regret to announce that we have come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Nonprofit Board Governance (NPG) and Representing and Managing Tax-Exempt Organizations (TEO) programs.
The programs will no longer be held at the AAMC Learning Center and the Grand Hyatt Washington on April 22-24, 2020.
The health and safety of our speakers and attendees, as well as Georgetown Law staff and students, is our paramount concern as the world faces the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Speakers and registrants were informed via email on March 12 and a Georgetown Law CLE team member will communicate with registrants separately regarding refunds. We ask for your patience as we manage a backlog of such requests due to multiple event cancellations.
We will strive to create webinar recordings of planned sessions from this event, so please stay tuned as we roll those out in the coming months on our online platform (linked below). CLE credit will be available, however, MCLE state credit rules vary for online CLE. You will find recordings from past years of NPG and TEO available there, as well, plus content in other practice areas.

It is more important than ever that in-house and outside counsel stay abreast of the most current developments and best practices in cybersecurity.
Those lawyers who ignore cyber threats are risking millions of dollars for their companies or their clients. Recent reports by Cisco and the World Economic Forum both highlight the paramount importance of cyber risk management. The Cybersecurity Law Institute will give you insights into the latest information and strategies.
You have an important role to play in cybersecurity leadership, especially in keeping corporate officials and the board of directors informed. Too often, well-meaning officials don’t know what they don’t know!
At our Institute you will receive insights on the best governance, preparedness, and resilience strategies from experienced government officials, general counsels, and cybersecurity practitioners who face these issues on a daily basis.

If you can attend only one state and local tax conference this year, make it the Georgetown Law Advanced State and Local Tax Institute. The Faculty for the Advanced State and Local Tax Institute are second-to-none, and attendees include a balanced mix of state regulators, law firm attorneys, accounting firm attorneys and CPAs, and in-house attorneys and CPAs. Come to the Georgetown Law Advanced State and Local Tax Institute, and come away with the knowledge and the connections to advance your career in state and local tax. This year's program will kick off with a Networking Reception on Tuesday evening, graciously hosted by Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP, with the remainder of the program being held at Georgetown University Law Center.

Georgetown Law's eDiscovery Training Academy provides a unique and immersive learning experience in eDiscovery law and technology. The intensive week-long course was designed by eDiscovery experts, and its interactive format fosters strong connections between students and faculty. The course culminates with students testing their newly-developed skills in a "mock" meet-and-confer before actual state and federal judges. Students will leave the course with a comprehensive understanding of the discipline and an individualized certificate of completion.
