LL.M., M.L.T. and M.S.L. students
The information below is for students both incoming and returning LLM, MSL, SJD and Executive LLM students applying for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Graduate law students are welcome to apply for loans (federal or commercial) to cover the cost of attendance. Graduate students are not eligible for need-based Dean’s Tuition Grant.
Step 1 - FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is required for all applicants (unless you're only seeking private loans - this is not common).
Use School Code G21075.
Your parents' information is NOT required here.
Step 2 - Budget
Figure out how much you will need to spend on tuition, books and living expenses for the upcoming academic year.
Step 3 - Loan Types
Next, learn more about the different type of student loans available to you.
Step 4 - Loan Documents
You must complete (usually online) various requirements for your student loans. Now is the time to do so.
Step 5 - Georgetown Law Credentials
After you are admitted you can retrieve your GU Net ID credential from the Admitted Student Website. Any questions regarding your credentials, please notify the Office of Admissions (202) 662-9010.
Step 6 - Set-Up Your Georgetown Password
Once you have you Georgetown Net ID credential you can establish your new Georgetown password through Georgetown's Password Management System.
Step 7 - Request Your Loans
Complete the Georgetown Law Green Application to request the certification of your student loans you wish to accept.
Step 8 - Award Notice
Beginning in July we will mail completed applicants their award notice confirming their loan selections. You would have already received your tentative award via email after completing your Green Application.

Summer Aid Requests - April 15, 2020
Fall Aid Requests - June 1, 2020 (try to complete before leaving for the summer)
